The scraper bridge

 

The job of the EUROPELEC cantral drive thickener is to thicken sludge from municipal or industrial wastewater treatment plants. It can be used in small or medium-sized installations.

Effluent is channelled to the centre of the tank in the influent well where it is spread evenly and without turbulence over the thickening zone. The clean effluent is collected over a saw toothed outlet weir. Vertical pickets attached to the drive shaft are used for removing gas from and thickening the sludge. The thickened sludge is guided to the centre of the tank by adjustable bottom scrapers. From the sludge well, they are carried to the final treatment stage by hydrostatic pressure or pumping.

The thickener is designed for tanks 3 to 13 m in diameter.

 

Technical features :

The main materials used are hot dip galvanised steel, aluminium and stainless steel.

The scraper bridge has the following components:

a reconstituted beam made of folded sheet metal, reinforced by a lattice to which the protective handrails, the bottom scrapers and, where applicable, the surface scraper are attached ; a bridge mounted on a pivot ;a slip ring for supplying power to the drive end ; a beam supported by one or two rubber-tyred wheels ;a gear motor ;
a toothed outlet weir.

Available as an option :
A metal siphon baffle for catching floating matter and a bin for scum removal may be installed.

 

The suction bridge

 

The EUROPELEC suction bridge is intended for installation in all circular sedimentation tanks with flat or slightly sloping bottoms. It is generally used for treating municipal and industrial wastewater containing heavy matter that may settle quickly and from which it is important to be able to extract sludge as it forms.

The effluent is carried, through a steel or concrete influent well, to the central diffuser which calls for downward redirection. Distributed thus, as the effluent passes through the structure, decantable particles are freed and settle on the bottom where they are picked up by a V-shaped scraper system.

In the groove on each scraper, a tube sucks up the sludge using hydrostatic pressure and carries it to the gutter suspended under the bridge. The sludge collected in the gutter is continuously driven back by a siphon to a central sludge well. From there, a fixed pipe carries it away to the next stage of treatment. The clarified effluent overflows from the tank.

The suction bridge has the following components:

a reconstituted beam made of folded sheet metal, reinforced by a lattice to which the protective handrails, the sludge collection gutter and the bottom and/or surface scrapers are attached ;
a bridge supported on a spur gear drive to which a slip ring for supplying power to the bridge is fitted ;
a base supporting the rubber-tyred drive wheel, directly driven by a gear motor and a free wheel ;
tubes that suck up the sludge fitted with a telescopic flow-adjustment valve at the outlet ;
a toothed outlet weir.



Available as an option:

Central drive thickener

 


The job of the EUROPELEC CENTRAL DRIVE THICKENER is to thicken sludge from municipal or industrial wastewater treatment plants. It can be used in small or medium-sized installations.

The main components of the EUROPELEC thickener are as follows :

a gear motor adequately dimensioned for the force to be supplied ;
a spur gear drive ; a central tube, guided at the bottom by a fixed bearing and connected to the spur drive gear at the top ; two arms comprising spacers and spiders to which the vertical pickets and the sludge scrapers, which can be adjusted to the slope of the bottom, are attached ; a set of tension rods to stiffen the metal structure.

The main materials used are hot dip galvanised steel and stainless steel and electromechanical parts are painted with rust inhibitor.
